Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano with three volcanic cones. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain above sea level in the world at 5,895 m (19,341 ft) above sea level and 4,900 m (16,100 ft) above its plateau base. It is also the highest volcano in the Eastern Hemisphere. It is the only place in Africa that has snow year round. We offer day hikes, overnight camps, and summit journeys. So join us as we take on the great mountain together. At the moment, we offer climbs up the Marangu route, but we are expanding to other routes in the near future. The journey to the summit and back typically takes five to eight days to complete. The amount of days needed to summit and return to the base depends on physical aptitude and the ability to handle altitude change. If an extra day is needed for your group, this can be arranged during your hike. If you are planning on climbing to the summit and would like a tour to acclimatize, we offer an acclimitization bike tour in Kibosho.
