Materuni Waterfalls

Journey to the last village before reaching Mount Kilimanjaro.  This village hosts Tanzania's third-largest waterfall at 80 meters.  Materuni village is prominently inhabited by the Chagga people as well a large chameleon population.  On this trek, in addition to seeing the amazing natural wonder, you will learn more about local plantlife and how the Chagga people use them.  This tour includes a local lunch in the village.  There is also the opportunity to do a coffee tour and learn the process of coffee production first hand and finish with the freshest cup of java possible.  

There is also an add-on of going to Chemka Hot Springs after lunch.  

Kikuletwa Waterfalls can also be added to any tour going to Chemka Hot Springs.

There is a bike tour option that is 25 miles (40 km), 12.5 miles (20 km) uphill and the same distance downhill.

You can also add Materuni to an overniight trip to a Chagga Village in Marangu.
