Mto wa Mbu is a small village between Karatu and Makuyuni, nestled near the shores of Lake Manyara. This village is famous in the region for its banana production and market. It is remote and unpopulated enough to be frequently visited by neighboring wildlife.
The tour of this village can be done by bike or tuk-tuk and can be done as a day trip from Arusha as well as neighboring towns. You will begin by hiking to Majengo waterfalls. Then you will have lunch before visiting a Maasai boma. From the boma, you will return to Mto wa Mbu where you will see Lake Manyara from its shore, rice and sugar plantations, the local market, and local artisans from around Tanzania. You will finish your tour on Balaa Hill where you will get an amazing view of Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley.
There is an option to add a Canoe Ride on Lake Manyara
or a Zipline Experience to this tour.
